Film Festival: Jewish Motifs

This year's edition of the festival will open on Thursday, May 18th with a screening of the 1965 Czechoslovakian film THE SHOP ON THE MAIN STREET directed by Ján Kadár and Elmar Klos, and continue for three days with an international programme of over 30 features, including a special screening of SON OF SAUL by László Nemes.

As for the accompanying events, Saturday, May 21st will be devoted to sessions on the topic of DISTINCTIVE TASTES, and exploring Jewish culinary culture as a vehicle for memory and identity.

While the festival aims at showcasing works coming out of Central and Eastern Europe, a number of films from US, Israel as well as other European countries have been included in the programme.
